Model FA-6

EASY TO INSTALL
ONE SIMPLE, RELIABLE DESIGN

Model FA-6 fans have been developed to allow the easiest possible installation. They are constructed in accordance with standard dimensions for 6" spiral duct which makes the installation simple. With the use of reducers, this fan can be in either a 5", 6" or 8" duct. The building block for Fan America fans is the external rotor motor. With this design, the impeller is attached directly to the external rotor which allows excellent heat dissipation and long life.

SAVE ENERGY

The speed of these fans can be continuously varied from 100% of rated airflow all the way down to full ????? because of the unique design incorporating a ????? motor. Considerable power savings can result because of the ability to match the airflow to actual requirements.

The speed control can be set manually or automatically by means of a thermostat.

FEATURES

     - Rotating motor, class B insulation. Sufficient service factor provided to ensure long and maintenance free operation over maximum load conditions.
     - Fan blades attached to rotating motor provides excellent motor heat dissipation, even at almost zero RPM.
     - Automatic reset thermal overload protection is standard on all motors.
     - Designed for operation in air stream temperatures up to 150 F.
     - 100% controllable solid state speed control.
     - Ball bearings have specially developed lubricant and are sealed for life.
     - All fans are suitable for mounting horizontally, vertically or at any angle with duct hanger.

VERSATILITY

Can be used on 5", 6" or 8" ducting with the use of simple reducers.
Can operate against static pressures exceed 3/8" w.g.
Can be used for general exhaust or supply, bathroom venting or air boosting.

SAFETY

All fans are designed to meet UL, CSA and VDE standards. Approved products are listed in UL yellow card E54522, CSA file LR3145 and several VDE files. It is the responsibility of the user to be sure the fans are installed and operated in accordance with all safety codes.

MOTORS

The motors used in Fan America's fans are shaded-pole designs with class "B" insulation. Fans operate at 115 VAC 50/60 Hz. All fans are thermally protected in accordance with UL, CSA and VDE requirements. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is greatly reduced by the self-shielding external rotor.

BEARING SYSTEM

The type of bearing system selected will directly effect the "life" of the fan. All Fan America's motors come equipped with ball bearings and are totally maintenance free. Product life depends on ambient temperature, duty cycle, mounting position and environmental condition. One hundred thousand hours is not uncommon.

CONSTRUCTION

All metal construction provides excellent heat dissipation, long life and structural stability. The fan itself functions as heat sink by effectively transferring heat from the motor to the air stream via the metal impeller blades. The impeller blades are sheet steel, precision machined and welded to the metal rotor. The housing is die-cast aluminum or zinc. The rotor and impeller blades are dynamically balanced in two planes to Quality Grade 2.5. In addition, the fans are finished with an electrostatically applied black finish to protect black finish to protect against severe environmental conditions.
